Terms of use

1. Who we are

CyberSignal is a product of Freeroam LLC, an independent software studio at 206 7th Ave S, Clear Lake, SD 57226, United States. You can reach us at support@freeroam.ai.

2. Ownership

The site and everything we made for it — its software and source code, design, layout, text, graphics, icons, the “CyberSignal” name and logo, and the selection and arrangement of its content — are owned by Freeroam LLC and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. All rights not expressly granted in these terms are reserved.

Data and media from third parties (camera images, flight, ship and satellite positions, map imagery and the like) are not ours; they belong to their providers and are shown under their licences, listed on the data sources page. Open-source software used in the site remains under its own licence.

3. Your licence to use the site

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to view and use the site in a web browser for your own informational, non-commercial purposes. You may link to any page and share screenshots for commentary, news or education, provided you credit CyberSignal and keep any source credit shown on screen. Anything beyond that — reselling, republishing or embedding the site or its data feeds — needs our written permission (and, for third-party data, its owner’s).

4. Information only — do not rely on it for safety

CyberSignal shows public data as its sources publish it. Positions can be delayed, incomplete or wrong; aircraft and ships are carried forward along their reported course between updates; road traffic in Free Fly is simulated; camera directions are estimates; and plate-reader locations are mapped by volunteers. Do not use the site for navigation, air or marine safety, emergency response, law enforcement, or any decision about a person.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site or its data, or use its APIs other than through its pages;
• get around rate limits, blocks or other security measures, or probe, scan or test the site’s security;
• overload or disrupt the site or the public services it relies on;
• use the site to stalk, harass, intimidate or surveil anyone, or for any unlawful purpose;
• copy, modify, reverse-engineer or create derivative works of the site, except as the law allows;
• remove or obscure ownership notices, source credits or labels saying what is estimated or simulated;
• misrepresent your affiliation with us, or suggest we endorse you.

We may block access, without notice, for anyone who breaks these rules.

6. Advertising and other sites

The site is free and supported by advertising served by Google. Ads, and the sites and services we link to, are run by others; we are not responsible for their content, products or practices. How advertising uses data is explained in our privacy policy and cookie policy.

7. Pro, payments and cancelling

CyberSignal is free. Pro is an optional paid plan for signed-in members. What Pro includes is listed where you buy it; features marked “coming” are plans we are working on, not promises with dates. We may improve or change Pro’s features over time, and will not take away its core benefits (no ads, faster updates) while you are paying for them.

• Pro, monthly (US$2.99 a month): renews automatically each month until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account (“Billing, receipts & cancel”); Pro then stays on until the end of the month you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
• Founder (US$19.99, paid once): offered to the first 100 buyers only. It gives Pro for as long as Freeroam LLC runs CyberSignal — not for any person’s lifetime — plus a numbered Founder badge. It is personal to your account and cannot be transferred. If we ever close CyberSignal or Pro, we will tell Founders at least 30 days ahead.
• Prices are in US dollars; sales tax or VAT may be added at checkout where the law requires. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card number.
• Refunds: if Pro is not for you, email support@freeroam.ai within 14 days of a payment and we will refund it in full. After that, payments are not refundable, except where the law says otherwise.
• If we suspend an account for breaking these terms, its Pro ends without a refund. If we end Pro for any other reason, we refund the unused part of the current month (or, for a Founder, the price paid if within the first 12 months).

8. Accounts and the newsletter

You sign in with a link sent to your email; keep your inbox secure, because anyone who can open the link can use your account. One account per person. The weekly newsletter is free and separate from Pro: you choose whether to subscribe, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

9. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, email support@freeroam.ai with: the work you believe is infringed; where it appears on the site; your contact details; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them; and your physical or electronic signature. A camera or data provider that would like its feed removed can simply ask, and we will remove it.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE, INCLUDING PRO, IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not promise that the site or any data source will be available, accurate, timely or free of errors, and any source may change or withdraw its data at any time.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, FREEROAM LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SITE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF FIFTY US DOLLARS (US$50) AND WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Freeroam LLC from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Dakota, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in South Dakota, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your own courts, nothing here takes that right away.

14. Changes and general

We may change these terms or the site, or stop offering it, at any time. When the terms change, the date at the top changes too; continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, with the privacy policy and cookie policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
